Jeff Goldblum, Frozen Fly King

Ok, fine. So it’s not really Jeff Goldblum, nor is this little guy likely to be the king of flies. He was however, sitting on the roof of my car this morning, an unfortunate victim of our first frost of the year.

You’ll have to forgive the lack of awesome focusing. It’s mighty tough to stay steady when you’re shivering and shooting macro.

What kind of camera/lens are you using here? I an a Nikon guy and don’t think I could ever capture the individual ice crystals with my NIkon 60mm Macro. Really beautiful, either way. :-)

Thank you. It was shot with a 100mm f/2.8 macro on a 1D Mark II body. Though, it would have been clearer if I had brought out a tripod.
