I said last week that I would start taking photos for myself at least once a week. I also said I’d write on here with that same frequency. I guess I’ll kill two (insert noun) with one (noun) today. Check it out after the jump.
I set out to test out an upcoming shoot concept. Nice simple lighting, simple makeup. I like to work with as little as possible. I think it helps a person really focus on what they are trying to accomplish.
I went to hobby lobby to pick up some random materials to make the props, and a huge lot of bleached muslin (which I will soon be painting) for the backdrop, since for some odd reason I couldn’t find my white backdrop. All in all it was fairly inexpensive, though by the end of this series I’m sure that will change. When every detail has been worked through I will call in the real makeup artist, and stylist instead of just making do with my own laughable attempts at doing hair.
Overall, I got almost exactly what I was looking for. Heather, for as unsure of her modeling abilities as she was, did a wonderful job. Though I think next time I go to polish up this idea…I will do it outside.
I have to hand it to her, when I told her to look “seductive, with a hint of creepy” she somehow hit it, first shot.
Consider me impressed.
