It’s finally here. You’ve been waiting for the opportunity to learn first hand how to take your career to new heights and in 2012, on February 17 through February 19th you will have that chance. This is not your average workshop. This is a 3-day intensive course with industry leaders is designed specifically to help you break new ground in your creative career.
[frame] Open to hair stylists, make up artists, models, and photographers, the learning experience offered here will guide you through the ins and outs of high-end image creation as well as prepare you to step into a limitless world of creativity, professionalism and success. While this is a high-level workshop our instructors are wonderful at working with all skill levels and welcome the opportunity to work with beginners and pros alike. [/frame]Location & Times:

Course Outline: 9am-5pm each day
[toggle title="Day 1"]Focused on the styling team and models, Day One is an opportunity for those of you whose work takes place in front of the lens to hone your craft with real working professionals. Each attending model will learn to perfect their posing and business sense from our modeling mentors while our attending stylists and makeup artists will learn to craft their own unique concepts from start to finish with hands on instruction from our renowned beauty artists. As the lecture and demonstration portion of the day closes each individual will then have a set amount of time to put their new found knowledge into practice as they shoot exclusively with our photography mentors.
[/toggle] [toggle title="Day 2"]Our attending photographers dive right into a mentor-led lab environment complete with real-world editorial session demonstrations while the attending models and stylists return to continue their intensive instruction. Each stylist will execute a concept of their own creation while the photographers receive one-on-one instruction in rapport building, directing under pressure, lighting design, set management, and what exactly the secret term “line” means. As the attending models and stylists begin to wrap up their preparation they will cycle between each attending photographer while the mentors give individual attention to each station at our beautifully unique host location.
[/toggle] [toggle title="Day 3"]While it is highly recommended for all participants to attend, Day Three is focused solely on after-capture and the business of being a self-employed visual artist, this day will teach you more than could possibly be listed here. Each photographer will chose their best image from the day prior and our mentors will demonstrate how to properly and flawlessly retouch and prepare each image for print. This lecture will point out common mistakes, pitfalls and misconceptions that make your career more difficult without your realization. You will learn self-promotion strategies, what it means to be represented and how to seek it, guarded techniques of professional commercial image editors, and best business practices that can’t help but further your career. Our goal is to give you the tools to raise your own level of professionalism in both your images and methods. [/toggle]

Brad Austin adapted his style from his years at Brooks Institute of Photography, where he studied Motion Picture & Film. His photographic approach emphasizes lighting to convey a mood or emotion. Brad’s influences range from the colorful David Lachapelle to the simplicity of Irving Penn. You can find Brad’s work in Home in The Northland Magazine, Spaces, KC Studio, Eclectic, College Outlook, Creative Outlook, and Transitions Magazine.
