Music, to me, is one of the greatest things in creation. There just isn’t anything else out there that affects me the way it does.

We’ve talked before (not too long ago if I remember correctly) about inspiration and what pushes you to grow either in yourself or in your work. Rather than dig to see what I said then…I’ll say it again. Music is what I go to. Of course I look around at visual art as well, but I have yet to find a painting or a photo that moves me the way a song can. Of course I’m not referring to all music. Beiber-Fever means nothing to me…yet take a song like Ray Lamontagne’s “Trouble” or Maverick Sabre’s “I Need” and my mood shifts completely.

This morning I woke up and wasn’t in the state of mind I wanted. I was sleepy and sore from the night before so naturally the last thing I wanted was to be awake…Jackson’s “Speed Demon” and “Dirty Diana” took care of that one on the way to church. In fact the 25th anniversary “Bad” album was all I was listening to on the way there and back.

All good except for a near wreck due to in-car dancing.

Don’t roll your eyes at me, you do it too.

Yes, you do.

Anyway, I’m back out the door again.

See you tomorrow,

D
