I’m not sure how I feel about the lack of optical drives on the new iMacs.

Granted, I may be behind in the times a little or something…but seriously, I don’t want to have to download everything all the time. Sometimes I’d just like to have, and be able to use a disk. It’s a pain to have to re-download a program from the manufacturer if my system has an issue.

Why don’t you just put it on a USB drive David?

Honestly, I don’t know. Believe me, I’m well aware of how little solidity this gripe holds. I’m just acting like a crotchety old man that doesn’t want to change his ways. Still, some of us out here in the world would like to have something physical to use in an emergency when there is either no time, or no ability to hope online and fix something after waiting hours for it to download.

Yeah yeah, I know…just put it on a backup drive and be quiet. I get it.

Of course that’s what I’m going to do, but I refuse to like it!

See you tomorrow,

D
