It’s funny how music and laughter can change everything for the better. At least that’s how it is for me, though I don’t know anyone that hates laughing.

An impromptu trip landed me and a friend of mine at a music store for I don’t even know how many hours. As soon as we walked in the door we noticed a group of people playing an improvised gospel rap by the guitar wall.

Naturally we joined in.

From Gospel and Blues to a random combination of a Flamenco Rumba and Rock I’m not sure if there was really anything missed. In fact at one point I think we even had some of the staff joining in. Eventually some of those playing with us took off so we started something I can only describe as “Spanish guitar story time.” If that isn’t painting a clear picture just imagine spoken word over Spanish guitar. That’s the best I can do to help it make sense. All I can really say is that it’s incredibly hard to keep playing while someone is making me laugh hysterically.

What a great time.

I definitely needed that to help me clear my head a bit.

The past couple of weeks have been very trying. Lives all around me are changing in dramatic and difficult ways. The health of family and friends, dissolution of relationships, financial troubles from people that seemed set for life…the list goes on and on (and that’s without addressing my own life). That’s why I think it’s amazing that I encountered what I did today. It can be so easy to ignore God when we get caught up in ourselves. I missed church and bible study today, yet He was still right in front of me when I started looking.

Awesome day.

See you tomorrow,
