An epiphany hit me while I was doing the dishes. We have no idea how to eat.
I’m not talking about my household but our race as a whole. I mean, think about it, we have a new fad diet every time you turn around and nutritional guidelines that reflect knowledge half a century old. On a larger scale, we eat foods that our bodies haven’t adapted to digesting and call them necessities…like grain. It just seems to me that we’ve become too intelligent to understand the basics of why our ancestors ate what they did before agriculture came around.
Now I’m sure I’ll get many of my fitness clients, colleagues and friends weighing in on this one…and I hope so…cause maybe I’m completely wrong here.
Maybe the real truth is that we do know what to eat and just simply refuse to do it.
See you tomorrow,
