This page houses a project spanning 5 years. It began in 2010 as a self-imposed challenge; A daily way of keeping myself accountable to the building of my business, and honing of my craft. When it came to a close in 2015 it felt more like a documentation of my professional evolution, and a glimpse of me while transitioning into my 30’s.

And so I give you “the daily photographer.”

Daily Photographer – Day 8

A little late on the post today aren’t I? I am here though, and so is today’s shot!

I was looking through my archives this morning and stumbled across this shot of my friend Micah Lacerte from I had completely overlooked it the first time I saw it several months ago, but today…today I love it.

Sometimes all it takes is a shift in perspective to bring the best out of a piece. That’s why I love going through old photos from time to time. As I change and grow, so does my view on the work.

Until tomorrow,

Daily Photographer – Day 9

I realized today that I’ve never shown you all one of my favorite shots. I love it so much that it’s the first image potential clients see when I send out my portfolio. So, while I hate to use work that isn’t brand new…I guess this is brand new to you all!

For all you fellow photonerds out there, I get a lot of questions about the lighting on this shot. There are no strobes here, no artificial lighting…it’s all natural.

I absolutely love how the light wraps around her, it’s almost angelic.

Alright public, I have to get back to editing down the magazine stuff so I can send it off.

See you tomorrow,

Daily Photographer – Day 10

Starting today I’m going to use the power of art and stuff to make the cold weather go away!

Think warm thoughts people, Old Man Winter’s reign of terror must be stopped!

We continue the fight all this week!

Daily Photographer – Day 12

I’m beginning to think this may not work.

What do you think? Maybe we should try reverse image-psychology! Should tomorrow be some artic tundra?

Daily Photographer – Day 13

Yeah, so my plan to use pictures of spring-like things isn’t working. In fact, it snowed.

So, we’re going to abandon that effort and get back to people for the day. I’ve been sitting on this shot for a bit waiting to try and figure out if I wanted to do something crazy to it, or leave it as is…

Obviously I chose to leave it nice and simple. I don’t know, it may not be the strongest photo I’ve ever taken but something about it moves me.

Until tomorrow,

Daily Photographer – Day 14

I can’t believe I’ve been at this for two weeks! I’ll take a pat on the back for such consistency.

Say hello to Jessica Ahlborn, an amazing photographer in her own right. She’ll be flying in from Seattle in a couple weeks and we’ve planned a pretty awesome set for you guys. You can check out her work here.

Anyway, I’m off to continue my efforts in productivity.

Take care,
